Planned reforms for French platform workers ‘don’t allow enough choice’

Platform workers in France are to be given a voice in negotiations with companies – and some protections for the first time – but some who work with gig workers are calling for a more flexible approach.

The National Assembly passed a law in October providing ride-hail (VTCs) and food delivery drivers with representatives for negotiating working conditions with platforms. The election for those representatives is intended to be held by digital ballot early in 2022, but a date has yet to be set.
